The interior design program at the University of Alabama acknowledges
the need for the interior design profession to remain active in
providing for the safety, convenience, and aesthetic satisfaction of
users in the 21st century and beyond.
The location of the program in the College of Human Environmental Science’s Department of Clothing, Textiles and Interior Design ensures that students develop a design philosophy which focuses on users and their changing needs. The program strives to create student motivation for excellence based in the knowledge of the principles and elements of design and their appropriate application to the built environment. Faculty are committed to providing opportunities for students to develop a multi-cultural and global awareness through class projects, lectures, and other opportunities as they present themselves. The program strives to foster an understanding of the importance of cultural diversity in the professional preparation of its students. |
