Athletic Training Education Program

Ginger Gilmore, MS, ATC

Assistant Athletic Trainer

  • BS - The University of Alabama, 1992
  • MS - Northwestern State University, 1994

After four years away from the Capstone, Ginger Gilmore returned to Tuscaloosa in 1996 to join the staff as an Assistant Athletic Trainer.  Although Ginger's primary responsibility is to provide athletic healthcare to the Baseball team, she also supervises the Graduate Assistant ATCs assigned to Cheerleading and Soccer.  Ms. Gilmore is a clinical instructor within the ATEP where she holds an adjunct faculty appointment and serves on the ATEP Selection Committee.  As a clinical instructor, Ginger has consistently sought to expose her students to the many roles and responsibilities of the collegiate athletic trainer.  This exposure assists the students in understanding the multiple aspects that are involved in providing high quality athletic training services.

Gilmore is very involved in anti-spit tobacco education efforts.  In October 2000 she organized a four day series of educational programs in Tuscaloosa by Doug Harvey, renowned baseball umpire and oral cancer survivor.  Ginger was an invited speaker at the 2000 NATA Annual Meeting and Clinical Symposia and was an Athletic Trainer for the equestrian venue during the 1996 Summer Olympic Games.
