Associate Athletic Trainer
Sherry Kimbro came to Alabama in 1987 after six years as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of Miami. In her role as Associate Athletic Trainer, Ms. Kimbro oversees the operations of the Coleman Coliseum Athletic Training Room which hosts all of the Tide's Olympic sports. Her primary team responsibility is to the Women's Basketball Team, but she oversees the Graduate Assistant ATCs who work with Swimming and Diving and Volleyball. Sherry holds an adjunct faculty appointment to the ATEP, serves as a clinical instructor, and is a member of the ATEP Selection Committee. Ms. Kimbro's students site Sherry's ability to "teach us without us realizing she's teaching us" as one of her strengths as a clinical instructor. The Dickson TN native worked as an athletic trainer at the 1991 Pan American Games held in Cuba and was the Chief Athletic Trainer for Volleyball at the 1996 Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta. She has also traveled extensively with junior and senior national teams in a wide variety of sports. Sherry has held office in the Alabama Athletic Trainers' Association and was an invited presenter at the 2000 NATA Annual Meeting and Clinical Symposia in Nashville. |
