From the Desk of DEAN STUART USDAN

COVID-19 has altered the way we all do business. During this challenging time, the College of Human Environmental Sciences remains committed to supporting our students, faculty and staff.
Faculty and staff have made the transition to remote learning with amazing grace and flexibility. CHES will continue to provide outstanding educational experiences by supporting each other throughout this new normal. I encourage students to stay in touch with their instructors and reach out to them if experiencing challenges with the remote learning system. Students might find these online-learning-tips from UA helpful as well.
Academic advising continues by distance. If a student has not already met with an advisor, or if they have any questions, they should contact their academic advisor by e-mail to set up a time to speak with them about their academic schedule prior to registration. Face-to-face advising appointments are not being scheduled, however, students and advisors are meeting virtually. If a student is unsure who their advisor is, this information can be found by looking in Degreeworks. Any student who needs additional assistance should contact the HES Student Services office via email at hesstudentservices@ches.ua.edu.
Students, parents, faculty, and staff can stay updated on The University of Alabama’s responses to the COVID-19 outbreak by visiting healthinfo.ua.edu.
Be safe, stay positive and keep in touch as we continue to learn in new ways.
