CSM 441 CONSUMER COMMUNICATIONS

 

Instructor:  C McGahey

Credit Hours:  3 hrs.

 

Course Description

This course examines the principles, methods, techniques, and resources used in planning, writing, developing, and evaluating effective consumer communications programs for companies, institutions, and organizations using computers as a tool.  Students use Adobe PageMaker 6.5 or 7.0 to prepare publications related to their specific majors.

 

Course Objectives

       Demonstrate advanced knowledge of Adobe PageMaker, to design professional publications.

       Exhibit, and understand writing skills for use in professional, consumer, and community settings.

       Collaborate with the community-at-large, professional within student’s field of study, to design appropriate publications.

       Utilize technical expertise to apply critical thinking skills to enhance the quality of life for client-based professions based in the College of Human Environmental Sciences.

       Apply clear, coherent prose in desktop publishing applications.
