CTD 102 APPLIED DESIGN

Credit Hours:  3 hrs.

 

Course Description

Basic concepts in organization and evaluation of design and its contribution to the enrichment of living.

 

Course Objectives

1.       To develop an awareness of the entire world as a global family in which lies resources that are either renewable, fragile or endangered

2.       To develop an awareness of the effects of art and design on humans and their surrounding environments

3.       To demonstrate an understanding of the designer’s ability to affect people and their environment through the application of design elements, principles, and materials

4.       To develop an awareness of new art theories based on the evolutionary process of prior art exploration and expressions

5.       To develop a consciousness of alternate points of view and appreciation of cultural diversity

6.       To develop an awareness of art and design as a mode of expression that is in constant flux according to changes in culture and politics

7.       To provide an understanding of the interior design, the retail, and the clothing and textile professions

8.       To develop a visual literacy
