Upon completion of
this course, the students will be able to:
1.Discuss the
essential functions of proteins, carbohydrates and lipids.
2.Give an in-depth
discussion of carbohydrates, lipids and protein metabolism.
3.List the
biochemical control points and hormones that the body utilizes when adapting
to changes in dietary composition or in homeostasis.
4.Discuss the
metabolic interrelationship of energy nutrients in various nutritional and
hormonal states.
5.Apply lecture
and textbook concepts to nutritional problems.
