CTD 261, Textiles - Internet

Three hours. Textiles is a study of the materials and processes used in making fabrics for apparel and home furnishings. The term "textile" is derived from the Latin term textilis, which is based on the verb textere, which means to weave. Textiles refers to any material that can be worked into fabric, such as fibers and yarns, including woven, knitted, bonded, felted, needle-punched fabrics; lace and crocheted goods. Textiles also designates the constructed cloth. This course in textiles is suitable for students enrolled at a college or university and is working toward a major in Interior Design, Fashion Retailing/Merchandising, Apparel Design, or Home Economics Education. Retail Buyers or other practitioners who need Continuing Education Units (CEUs). In addition many students choose this course as an elective. Faculty: L. Roper
