--Congratulations to Dr. Mike Perko for being named health educator administrator of the year
--Congratulations to the winners of the Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities Conference
--Congratulations to the Spring 2008 Eta Sigma Gamma Initiates
--Dr. Renée Umstattd, Assistant Professor in Health Science, will be honored on Friday May 2, 2008 by the UA Council on Community-Based Partnerships. Her work is being recognized as one of the Outstanding Faculty/Staff-Initiated Engagement Efforts for 2007-2008. She is receiving this premiere award for her project Environmental Change: A Collaboration of Better Health in the University Community
--The Department of Health Promotion and Wellness (HPW), under the leadership of Michelle Harcrow, Coordinator for Health Promotion of the Student Health Center and a doctoral student in the Department of Health Science, was recently awarded two awards for our Project Health-Peer Educator program (projecthealth.ua.edu). The awards represent the recognition for leadership and service and are determined by peer review through the CCSO (Coordinating Council of Student Organizations).
2008 Crimson Star Award is the highest honor for a student organization, recognized as those providing superior service and outreach at UA. There are a total of 4 levels of recognition with Crimson Star representing the top level of recognition.
2008 Foundation Award recognizes “excellence in collaboration” and is based on the year’s events and activities, the diversity of participation, and the collaboration through co-sponsorships.
