Members of the CHES Leadership Board came to the UA campus Friday, October 18, for their semi-annual luncheon and meeting. In addition to giving us a chance to show our gratitude, the meeting provided Dean Usdan the opportunity to showcase new initiatives, renovations and events that have occurred since members last met in January.
Dr. Lizzie Hibberd, Assistant Professor and Athletic Training Program Director, presented a slide show to the group featuring photos of the brand new Athletic Training wing in the recently renovated Capital Hall. Dr. Hibberd explained what athletic trainers do and how the program prepares students for fulfilling careers.
The meeting ended with the dedication of the Frank Fleming Sculpture Garden. Made possible through the generosity and vision of Mrs. Ann Rhoads and her late husband, John, the garden features six of Fleming's works. Board members were then invited inside for the unveiling of a recognition wall featuring a whimsical storybook depiction of the garden along with Fleming's portrait and biography.
