Craig, along with other team members from UA, have implemented a unified system across campus. The Clinic Observation Recording System (CORS) serves seven departments with an eighth coming onboard later this year. The system’s vendor says that we are the first campus in the nation to engage in this level of a broad collaboration across departments.
Because of the collaborative way this system was implemented with support from The Office of Academic Affairs, departments with smaller scale needs have the option to add as few as one camera to their facilities without having to make prohibitively expensive investments in back-end server infrastructure. In addition to this benefit, the team has also saved money and increased information security overall when compared to having multiple individual systems throughout campus.
Graves will receive an Outstanding Professional Award on Thursday, May 17 primarily for the implementation of the CORS for our entire campus. Annually, this award recognizes two University of Alabama professional staff for going above and beyond normal responsibilities and duties, for bringing out the best in others, for offering innovative ideas, and for creating conditions for success.
Graves undertook this endeavor with the help and support of others over the past several years. He would like to thank the following people – Dean Milla Boschung and Dr. Stuart Usdan, Dr. Karly Downs and Dr. Blake Berryhill from the CHES Marriage and Family Therapy Clinic, Dr. Ivon Foster-McGowan and The Office of Academic Affairs, and each of the departments that chose to buy into the new Clinic Observation Recording System.
