Catering Supervisor

The Montgomery Biscuits, Class-AA Affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays play in Alabama's State Capital. The $26 Million downtown ballpark features 20 suites, 4,500 fixed seats, multiple picnic entertainment venues and party decks. Built into a historic train depot, the ballpark is a gem, blending the heritage of the South with the amenities of the future. As part of the Montgomery Riverfront Development Project, the ballpark serves as a key component in revitalizing Montgomery's downtown while providing fun, affordable, family entertainment to fans in Montgomery and beyond.

We are eager to add a talented hospitality student in this full-time seasonal position, which is a great opportunity for a young professional looking to gain experience in catering.  Additionally, future job growth opportunities abound for talented food service professionals, both within the Biscuits as well as in Professional Sports Catering, a separate food service company managed by the Owners of the Biscuits!

JOB SUMMARY:

The Catering Supervisor will oversee all catering venues at Riverwalk Stadium, including twenty luxury suites and three picnic venues with capacity of 50 – 2500 people. This person will manage a staff of at least twenty (hourly and volunteers) and will be responsible for the set-up, clean-up and operation of all catering venues.  Additionally, he/she will be responsible for communicating with clients about food orders and menu options, handling any customer service issues during events, as well as holding weekly meetings between the food service department and sales department to ensure that food delivery, bill distributing, and the opening and closing of picnic venues are done in a timely manner.  The Catering Supervisor will work closely with the Director of Sales, Executive Chef, and Director of Food Service.

This is a full-time seasonal position, and this person will be required to work a full-time schedule that includes regular office hours (Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm), all Biscuits’ home games (70 games), and any other catering events held at Riverwalk Stadium.  This schedule varies and includes nights, weekends, and holidays.  The Biscuits can usually work around a remaining class schedule from March until May if necessary.

 The Catering Supervisor will report directly to the Director of Food Service.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior experience in foodservice, restaurants, or catering preferred
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and problem solving skills
  • Must be able to maintain strong thinking skills while under pressure and time limits
  • Strong communication and people management skills
  • Basic computer skills

Sponsorship Service Representative

JOB SUMMARY:
The Sponsorship Service Representative is responsible for executing the elements of the packages of the Biscuits’ sponsorship partners. This intense position involves implementation of our contractual obligations of our sponsors and serving as their advocate in the ballpark, proactively monitoring package performance and working with all team departments to guarantee the successful execution of the custom designed packages. Qualitative service and timely execution are important. This service position includes heavy event planning, drafting value worksheets, timelines, invoicing, payment tracking and drafting contracts for each sponsor.  The SSR also manages ticket issues such as reserving suites, season tickets and picnics for each sponsor, and ticket deliveries.

The Sponsorship Service Representative works closely with Ownership and Marketing while reporting directly to the Director of Sponsorships & Marketing.  The Sponsorship Service Rep is required to work regular office hours, as well as at all Biscuits home games, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in fast-paced environment
  • 1-2 years experience in event coordination at professional or internship level
