SPECIAL PRESENTATION: Mr. Dave George, President LongHorn Steakhouse, Monday, April 14, 2008 - Child Development Research Center All Restaurant, Hotel and Meetings Management Students are encouraged to attend to hear this outstanding presentation by the President of one of the largest restaurant chains in the U.S. DAVE GEORGE President LongHorn Steakhouse Darden Restaurants
Dave George has been President of LongHorn Steakhouse since 2003. He joined the company in April 1998 as Vice President of Operations – North. After two years, Dave was promoted to Vice President of Operations for The Capital Grille, which, like LongHorn Steakhouse, was a division of RARE Hospitality International. He returned to LongHorn Steakhouse as Senior Vice President of Operations in October 2001 and was elected President about two years later. He continued in that chief leadership role after RARE was bought by Darden Restaurants in 2007.
Dave has a bachelor’s degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management from Michigan State University. He and his wife, Lori, have two children.
Background on the Restaurant and Hospitality Management Program Hospitality Leadership Series Since 2002 to present, the following hospitality leaders have visited the Restaurant and Hospitality Management program to share their expertise with students.
